My nappy hair, Part III

Some of you must have thought I was crazy when I've posted about the difficulties of a black man finding a place that can cut his hair.
But read this interesting little story from the New York Times this morning about a black man trying to get a haircut in, of all places, Vermont.
Now, the black guy thought it was racism, because the white guy said he wouldn't cut the black guy's hair. But when asked for an explanation, the white guy said he didnt know how to cut black hair and he just didn't want to embarrass himself or the black guy.
At least the white guy was honest.
But the bigger issue remains. How is that you can be a barber and you dont learn how to cut black hair in barber school?

North Texas vs. The Bay Area: Another heartbreaker for North Texas.

When Tony Bennett first sang, "I left my heart in San Francisco," he couldn't have known how much this could apply to North Texas pro sports teams.

Last night, the San Francisco Giants ended the Texas Rangers' fairytale season in Game 5 of the World Series. It got me thinking of Bennett, and other failed Dallas-area championship efforts to teams by the bay.

After the game, I threw out this question on facebook/twitter:

What loss to a Bay Area pro sports team was more heartbreaking? Giants-Rangers (2010); Mavericks-Warriors (2007); or Cowboys-49ers (1982 "The Catch Game')?

My vote: Cowboys-49ers.

Still hurts to see how Everson Walls was posterized.
